Dr. Rebekah McCloud

Founder and Principal

A prolific grant writer, Dr. McCloud has secured over 50 million dollars in grants (including $20 million in TRIO grants). Throughout the years, Dr. McCloud has been a grant reviewer and field reader for several federal and foundation grant competitions. Her influence extends beyond grant writing. An awarded classroom teacher and former school principal, Dr. McCloud spent more than 20 years working at the University of Central Florida (UCF).  

 

She began working with pre-service and veteran teachers, served as the Director of Minority Programs in Education, the Associate Director of the Office of Diversity Initiatives, Executive Director of TRIO Programs, and conceived the Research and Mentoring Program (RAMP). She was instrumental in student access, retention, leadership, and diversity efforts at UCF.

Dr. McCloud's impact reverberates throughout academia. She has taught undergraduate and graduate level courses at several institutions of higher education, chaired a dozen Master’s Thesis committees, and led 15 Institutional Review Board (IRB) approved research studies. She is a published author, the former editor of The Florida English Journal, and an award-winning journalist.

 

Her diligence toward scholarship is apparent in her role on the editorial review board for six national peer-reviewed journals: SIGNAL Journal, the International Journal of Curriculum and Inquiry, the Journal of Critical Inquiry Into Curriculum and Instruction, the Journal of The First Year Experience & Students in Transition, the Journal of College Academic Support Programs, and the Journal of Adolescent & Adult Literacy. Additionally, she generously lends her expertise to reviewing articles for the American Educational Research Association (AERA) Open.

Dr. McCloud holds an Ed.D. in Curriculum & Instruction, a M.S. in Business (Managerial Leadership), a M.Ed. in Education (Educational Leadership), a B.A. in Communications, and a Graduate Certificate in Career & Technical Education. A versatile educator, she is a Certified Life Coach, a Certified Practitioner in Financial Capability, a certified Financial Education Instructor, and a certified Florida teacher and school administrator.

She has shared her wisdom through over 200 workshops at local, state, regional, and national conferences. Her multifaceted contributions have enriched the academic landscape and the lives of countless students and colleagues alike. She has had a career dedicated to the advancement of education and the empowerment of future generations
